I presented the 2006 TV documentary "Yamanas", directed by award-winning Italian director Tullio Bernabei, and the 2014 documentary on the Inquisition broadcast by Discovery Channel. Speaking

I like speaking and communicating with real people in person. As we all spend more and more time online, I believe it's vital to spend time in live discussion with others. I've given public lectures and participated in public debates at the British Academy, British Museum, Chelsea's Physic Garden, the Royal Botanical Gardens at Edinburg

I've given public lectures and participated in public debates at the British Academy, British Museum, Chelsea's Physic Garden, the Royal Botanical Gardens at Edinburgh, the Royal Geographical Society, Tate Modern, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Cheltenham and Dartington Literary Festivals.

I've also lectured widely internationally, in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish. Over the years, I've made appearances at the Oslo International Film Festival, the Montevideo International Book Fair, Porto's Casa do Infante, the Quai Branly Museum in Paris, the Museo Renault in Buenos Aires, and at the Wereld Museum and Schram Studios in Amsterdam.
